These are films my father, Kristján Hallgrímsson, shoot in Seyðisfjörður in the years 1962-1970. Seyðisfjörður is a fishing town on the east cost of Iceland.
It is also the port for the passenger ship M/S Norröna, which sails between Iceland, Faroe Islands and Denmark. I have once sailed with the ship and liked it very much, e.g. because of excellent buffet.
I had his films scanned and then I edited and put them together in one film. I did it because Sveinbjörn Orri, my former classmate in elementary school in Seyðisfjörð told me that there was a great interest there to see the films on the Seamen's day in the movie theater.
I was in South Africa, when the film was shown but heard later that the locals liked it very much because e.g. they recognized themselves, families, friends and others. - The next thing I am going to put the film on my web with text.
